For over 128 years the Treasure Valley Family YMCA has been a support for community members in need. The Y is committed to strengthening communities to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to have the Y experience. The Y Financial Assistance program makes this possible.
Income-based financial assistance is available to all who qualify, including those who are being impacted by the current government shutdown. Assistance is available for all programs the Y offers. As we enter the fourth week of the shutdown, many federal workers in the Treasure Valley remain uncertain about when their next paycheck will come, and the Y wants to be a resource during this time.
No one is denied the Y’s service due to the inability to pay.
“The Treasure Valley Family YMCA believes that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, deserves access to our services,” said David Duro, President and CEO of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA.
“Health and wellness often loses priority when financial uncertainty occurs and the YMCA offers hundreds of programs, youth, adults, and families can access to achieve healthy living.”
Anyone in need is encouraged to visit their local YMCA branch to apply for financial assistance towards YMCA membership or Y programs. YMCA facility locations and program information can be found at ymcatvidaho.org.
About the Treasure Valley Family YMCA
Established in 1891, the Treasure Valley Family YMCA (the Y) is a cause-driven, nonprofit organization that works to strengthen the foundation of our community by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living and instilling a commitment to social responsibility. Annually, we operate over 100 programs that serve 110,000 youth and families throughout our four facilities, 440-acre summer camp, and 23 child development sites. We believe all people deserve the chance to achieve their highest potential; therefore, we do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA provides over $4 million in financial assistance every year so all may participate in our life-changing programs and services.
