Anise Welty – Winner of 2026 Civic Engagement Scholarship

Anise is a young woman who, in her grandmother’s words, “rolls up her sleeves.” She has spent years showing up knocking on doors, gathering signatures, speaking at rallies, and engaging voters through hundreds of letters. Her dedication to public service spans organizations including Reclaim Idaho and the Idaho Sierra Club, where she has held leadership roles since middle school. At Borah High School, she befriends and tutors refugee students, helping them navigate their studies. Her teachers describe Anise as endlessly curious, deeply humble, and among the finest students they have ever taught.

Anise will be graduating from Borah High School and plans to attend American University to study Political Science and Government.
