Member Policies
Cancellation Policy
The YMCA does not require contracts. To cancel your membership, written notice must be received by the last day of the current month to avoid a charge for the next month. Cancellation Request Forms are available at the front desk at any branch or by clicking on this link.
A reinstatement fee of $30.00 (individual) or $60.00 (family) will be charged when re-joining 30 or more days after cancelling your membership.
Photo Release Policy
The Treasure Valley Family YMCA reserves the right to use photographs/videos taken within YMCA facilities and at YMCA events and activities for marketing and promotional purposes. For more information, please call 208 344 5502 ext 235.
Member Code of Conduct
Treasure Valley Family YMCA
The YMCA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all. To promote safety and comfort, the YMCA asks all persons to act appropriately at all times when in our facilities, on our property or participating in our programs.
We expect persons using the YMCA to employ the character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, to behave appropriately and respect the rights and dignity of others. The actions listed below, which are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of behaviors, are considered inappropriate and are prohibited in our facilities or programs:
- Using, possessing or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs on YMCA property, in YMCA vehicles or facilities, or at YMCA-sponsored programs
- Tobacco use or vaping on YMCA property – all of our YMCA buildings and grounds are smoke-free environments
- Carrying or concealing a weapon or any device or object that may be used as a weapon
- Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior
- Physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way
- Verbally abusive behavior, including profanity, angry language, swearing, name-calling, or shouting
- Sexually explicit conversation or behavior; any sexual contact with another person
- Cellular phone/tablet usage in locker rooms, sauna/steam room or restrooms
- Attire and/or body art that does not align with YMCA values
- Theft or behavior that results in the destruction or loss of property
- Loitering within facilities or on the grounds of the YMCA after being requested to depart the YMCA’s property
In addition, the YMCA reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been accused or convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse and is or has been a registered sex offender. The YMCA screens all current members and guests prior to gaining entrance to any YMCA facility.
Anyone who feels that this Code of Conduct is being violated should immediately report the behavior to a staff person on duty. YMCA staff members are eager to be of assistance. Please notify a staff member if assistance is needed.
Suspension or termination of YMCA membership and/or program participation may result from a violation of this Code of Conduct. While an incident is being investigated, the membership of the person(s) accused of violating this Code of Conduct may be temporarily suspended pending a final decision.

Payment Policies
Annual Payment
Dues may be paid in full for 12 months. Payment is accepted via cash, check, or credit card. Contact a Y facility for more details.

Family Definition
One or two adults in a domestic partnership who live in the same household and their dependent children 23 years of age and younger (kids under the age of 10 must be part of a family membership).
Checking/Savings Account or Credit Card Draft
This is the easiest and most convenient way to pay for your membership. Your fees are automatically withdrawn from your checking, savings, or credit card account once a month. To reduce our expenses, we appreciate if members consider providing us with a voided check for monthly payments.

Not Just a Gym ‘n’ Swim
Our programs go far beyond the walls of our facilities. From YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir in Cascade, to our youth sports programs that take place in various schools, to our races and fun runs held throughout the community, to our 21 child care sites around the valley, Y programs are impacting children, adults and families every day.
Lower Rates on Fee-Based Programs
Special member rates offered for programs that have additional fees attached.
Kid Zone
We provide safe, clean and nurturing care for kids 6 weeks-6 years old at all our facilities. Kid Zone is available for a reasonable fee to members on a walk-in basis.
Membership Travels with You
Nationwide membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA. We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities.
No Contracts

Youth Activity Center
Lovingly called the YAC by some of our youngest members, this staffed center offers youth (age 6-13) a place to gather, socialize, play games, or just relax. Fun activities are available daily. Caldwell YMCA, Downtown Boise YMCA, Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA, and West Boise YMCA & Boise City Aquatic Center facilities all operate YACs.

Member Referral FAQ
Can I refer more than one friend or family member?
Yes! There is no limit on the number of friends or family members you can refer to the Y. We will waive the joining fee for each person you refer.
Does my friend or family member have to join at the YMCA I go to?
No, this is not a requirement for participation in the program. No matter which branch your friend or family member joins, they will enjoy access to all of our Treasure Valley Family YMCA facilities.
Who is eligible to participate in this offer?
Adult, Young Adult, Couple, Individual Parent, Family, and Senior Adult continuous pay memberships are eligible to participate in the campaign. Full pay annual members are also able to participate. Promotion does not apply to short-term memberships.
I have a Silver Sneakers or Silver & Fit membership to the Y. Can I participate in the referral program?
Yes, you can refer friends and family to participate in the referral program.
I am currently receiving financial assistance. Can I refer a friend for this offer?
Yes. We encourage all of our members to take this opportunity to help their friends and family take part in all the Y has to offer, as well as help us make our community a healthier place to live. Should your friend or family member decide to join, they will have their join fee waived when they become a member.
Before this offer began, I referred multiple families to join the Y. Can they have their join fee refunded?
No. This promotion is not available retroactively.
