Alex Navarrete – 2026 Civil Engagement Scholarship Runner Up

Alex is a thoughtful and curious student whose love of science is rooted in a deep appreciation for Idaho’s natural landscapes. He has challenged himself with one of the most rigorous course loads available at Vallivue High School, including nearly every AP course offered, while volunteering for three summers with The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey as an interpreter and tour guide. Through the Youth Action Pact at the College of Idaho, he advocates for increased teen engagement and the creation of third spaces in the Caldwell community. His teachers describe him as singular of mind, intellectually curious, and committed to bettering himself and his Idaho community.

Alex will be graduating from Vallivue High School and plans to attend Boise State University.
