Quit Week Presented by Project Filter
The Treasure Valley YMCA has partnered with Project Filter to host a Quit Week Challenge in support of the Great American Smokeout—a nationwide movement encouraging people to take the first step toward living tobacco-free. Join the challenge during Quit Week, November 16-22.
Whether you’re ready to quit completely or just want to cut back, this challenge is your opportunity to take control of your health with the encouragement of your Y community.
Throughout the week, you’ll be guided through a series of activities designed to help you build awareness, strengthen your resolve, and celebrate progress. Not every task earns points- because much of quitting comes down to personal commitment and self-discipline, but each one brings you closer to a healthier, stronger you.
Why Join the Challenge?
- 🚭 Protect Your Family: Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at higher risk for asthma, ear infections, and respiratory illness.
- ❤️ Boost Your Health: Within just 20 minutes of quitting, your heart rate and blood pressure begin to drop, and within weeks, lung function improves.
- 👨👩👧 Set an Example: Quitting shows your loved ones that it’s never too late to make a healthy change.
And if you need one more reason, you’ll earn points in YMCA360 and get that much closer to some great Y swag!
Take the challenge, celebrate each day smoke-free, and start your journey toward a stronger, healthier life. Start now in YMCA360.
