General Facility Features
Free Play—Standard Operating Hours
Come hangout and use one of our six sensory swings or interact with our tactile wall in our low sensory room. This room also features calming cabanas that limit sound input while increasing fun with 6ft LED bubble tubes. Each week we host a Sensory Story Time where the stories come to life! Then, cruise on over to the high sensory room featuring a music wall panel, or jump onto a crash pad! Bounce or roll-on equipment tailored to high energy fun. Participants can even check out one of our fun classes such as The Obstacle Course or Move and Groove Dancing.
Life Skills
Gaining independence helps individuals fulfill and accomplish their dreams. In our Life Skills Class, participants can learn important skills such as money management, discover employment opportunities, and many other tools necessary for independent living. Our step-by-step cooking class teaches kitchen and food prep safety while producing healthy meals.
Adaptive and Inclusive Sports
Sports give kids and adults the opportunity to learn about teamwork and achievement. Most importantly, sports allow them to make friends, have fun, and exercise! Our sports programming is built from the ground up with inclusion in mind. We have a ringing basketball, volleyball, and soccer ball. We also have a beeping foam ball. Staff is trained to assist participants with successful outcomes while training peers in cooperative learning.
Personal Training
The Y offers adaptive personal training for individuals with varying abilities. Participants can choose from one-on-one personal training or a small group setting. Learn how to exercise safely! Our personal trainers help each individual on the journey to reach their fitness goal, whether it is to gain muscle, lose weight, or maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Fun Activities
Join us for other fun activities throughout the month! Maybe you would like to show off your talents during our Arts and Crafts Night or cheer during Bingo! Our Fine Motor Class allows participants to practice skills while interacting with peers, while our Open Gym Class works on hand and eye coordination, balance, and gross motor skills. Participants can also check out one of our many group exercise classes such as Beginner Yoga or Zumba.
Our Mission
We strengthen the foundations of community by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living, and instilling a commitment to social responsibility.
Our Membership Pledge
No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
Our Financial Assistance Program
Financial Assistance is available for Y memberships and programs. Many programs have a limited number of spaces and financial assistance funds. Call one of our Y’s for more information and to receive an application.
How We Started
Members of the community asked the Y to create a space dedicated to individuals that are neurodiverse. Participants and their parents were looking for programming where children and adults could realize their goals, outside of typically government-funded programs. Since the Y is for all, we set out to fill the gap in services by implementing a diverse environment. Input was received on all programming and will continue. We are here to serve YOU!
THRIVE Advisory Committee
The THRIVE Advisory Committee is comprised of participants, parents, professionals, and representatives of the Y. The primary function of the committee is to make policy recommendations, revisions, programming suggestions, and address concerns. Interested partners are encouraged to contact the THRIVE Director.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Y is always looking for great volunteers. Please contact the THRIVE Director if you are interested in volunteering in the center.
