Will there be job openings at the new YMCA?
Through the expansion of space and programming, the Y anticipates a need for additional staff in several areas of operation. One area of significant expansion is early education and childcare. Adjacent to the Y, we will own and operate a 134-seat childcare center to provide full-time infant, toddler, and preschool care.

Will you offer more group exercise classes?
With additional space, we do anticipate providing additional classes to serve our members.

The construction of the new Y is expected to take 18-24 months and we plan to open in late 2025 or early 2026.
What will the new Downtown Y look like?
Where can I park during construction?
The current parking lots will remain usable for Y members until late spring 2024 at which time the Y will share the options for parking or alternative transportation options to the Downtown Y.
I am concerned about road closures. Can you tell me what to expect during construction?
It is anticipated that there will be road closures but when and for how long are not known at this time. We will continue to update this space and communicate any news via email newsletters and social media as we know more.
How can I get involved?
The new Y will act as a service hub in the center of a larger redevelopment of downtown Boise. This once-in-a-lifetime project takes the entire community to bring to life. To give a gift today, click here. To learn more ways to be involved, schedule a vision tour by emailing donors@ymcatvidaho.org.
Will a membership at the new Downtown Y cost more?
The Y operates under a model where new capital projects are fully funded through donations and partner sources. This means that the project costs will not influence our membership pricing model. As with any other Treasure Valley Family Y program or facility, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay.

Will you have a cafe or some kind of an eating area for members?
The Intergen, at the heart of the new Y, will offer coffee throughout the morning, and will be a space for relationship building for all members.
