Pool FAQs

Are swim tests required?

For anyone under the age of 18, swim tests are required for every visit to the YMCA. This helps staff know which areas youth can visit based on their ability to swim. For families with little ones/non-swimmers, please maintain a ratio of two children for every adult.

How do I sign up for Swim Lessons?

Swimming is a vital skill for both fun and safety. Whether you or your child are a beginner or advanced swimmer, the Y offers opportunities for everyone to learn, grow, and foster a lifelong love of water activities.

Click here to see the various swim lesson options offered at the YMCA.

Is photography/recording allowed on the pool deck?

As part of the Child Abuse Prevention program, camera usage is prohibited on the pool deck and in locker room spaces.

Can I bring a flotation device for my child(ren)?

Yes, the only flotation devices allowed are Coast Guard approved lifejackets. (Rings and arm-floaties are not allowed)

What items are allowed on the pool deck?

Families are welcome to bring pool-friendly toys like diving rings and soft balls. However, certain items are not permitted, including food, glass containers, mermaid fins, pool noodles, snorkels, goggles that cover the nose, and hard balls such as basketballs and footballs.

For any additional questions, please stop by our lifeguard desk and we can assist!
