50-Meter Pool Closure

IMPORTANT UPDATE - We are happy to announce that we are hopeful we can reopen the 50 meter pool at the West Boise YMCA in mid/late August. We know this closure has been frustrating for our members and community. We thank you for your patience and understanding. As we get closer to filling the pool, we will have a better idea on an exact reopening date. Please check this page, YMCA360, or our West Boise YMCA Facebook page for updates. You can also get text updates by texting #WestYPool to 513-750-9622. Thank you!

Male & Female Steam Room Update

Parts for the boiler that controls both the male and female steam rooms have been ordered. These parts are being custom manufactured to meet the needs of our YMCA. We hope they will arrive in 6-8 weeks. As soon as we receive them we will begin install immediately in order to open this amenity as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience. We hope you are enjoying the newly remodeled steam rooms and showers at the West Boise YMCA.

Spa Scheduled Maintenance Alert

The spa at the West Boise YMCA & Boise City Aquatics Center will be closed from 12pm-3pm for maintenance & cleaning on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month. This is to ensure the cleanest, safest and most enjoyable experience for our members and community. Thank you for your understanding.

Pool FAQs

Are swim tests required?

For anyone under the age of 18, swim tests are required for every visit to the YMCA. This helps staff know which areas youth can visit based on their ability to swim. For families with little ones/non-swimmers, please maintain a ratio of two children for every adult.

How do I sign up for Swim Lessons?

Swimming is a vital skill for both fun and safety. Whether you or your child are a beginner or advanced swimmer, the Y offers opportunities for everyone to learn, grow, and foster a lifelong love of water activities.

Is photography/recording allowed on the pool deck?

As part of the Child Abuse Prevention program, camera usage is prohibited on the pool deck and in locker room spaces.

Can I bring a flotation device for my child(ren)?

Yes, the only flotation devices allowed are Coast Guard approved lifejackets. (Rings and arm-floaties are not allowed)

What items are allowed on the pool deck?

Families are welcome to bring pool-friendly toys like diving rings and soft balls. However, certain items are not permitted, including food, glass containers, mermaid fins, pool noodles, snorkels, goggles that cover the nose, and hard balls such as basketballs and footballs.

For any additional questions, please stop by our lifeguard desk and we can assist!
