Boise – The Treasure Valley Family YMCA hosted its annual Harrison Classic Kids Run on Sunday, October 14, beginning at 3 p.m. in downtown Boise. This year marks the first year that race organizers are partnering with IncludeAbility Inc., a Boise-based charity that promotes the importance of inclusion of children with physical and intellectual disabilities into mainstream events.
“We’re delighted that one of the largest kids’ runs in the Treasure Valley offers a course that is friendly to all abilities,” said Trace Dandrea, Volunteer President of IncludeAbility Inc. “We hope to have as many as 30 kids with disabilities competing alongside able-bodied kids which sends an important message of the importance of inclusion.”
“All children deserve the chance to realize their potential and participate,” said David Duro, CEO, Treasure Valley Family YMCA. “We love it when we see people of all ages and from every walk of life working side by side to strengthen communities through healthy living.”
