The Treasure Valley Family YMCA (Y) awarded numerous individuals with awards for their years of volunteerism and service to the Y and our community. These awards were presented at the Y’s 2014 Annual Meeting on June 4th, an event that brings people together to celebrate the successes of the Y’s mission and recognize volunteers who help make it possible.
VERN EMERY AWARD
The Board of Directors of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA established the Vern Emery Award in 1991 in memory and honor of former Y Executive Director Vern Emery’s long-term leadership of this community’s YMCA. It is presented annually to an outstanding volunteer leader who exemplified qualities characteristic of Vern Emery, including caring, compassion, leadership, positivity, etc.
This year, the Vern Emery Award was presented to long-time Y Board Member and community advocate, Russ Stoddard. Read more about this award and Russ Stoddard here.»
SERVICE TO YOUTH AWARD
In addition to the Vern Emery Award, the Y presented four committed Y volunteers with the Service to Youth Award, an honor that is presented annually to individuals who have gone above and beyond over the years to help develop youth in our valley. The 2014 recipients were:

OTHER VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION
Other individuals were recognized and honored at the 2014 Annual Meeting, including a volunteer from each branch. The 2013 Volunteers of the Year are:

A very special member of the Y family, Ed Cleary, was named the Y’s Volunteer of the Century for his 85+ years of service to the YMCA’s mission. This presentation, combined with all the other award presentations, made for a pretty incredible afternoon. Guests walked away feeling the impact that giving individuals have on the youth, adults, and families trying to thrive in this community.
